Penny and Monique’s Caribbean Adventure is a delightful story which explores the importance of family, community and culture as seen through the eyes of two children. When eight year old twins Penny and Monique finishes school for the summer they find it hard to contain their excitement, for along with their mother Angela they are to visit relatives on the Caribbean Island of Jamaica. Penny the eldest by five minutes is brave, outgoing with a strong sense of adventure and fun. Monique is the opposite to her sister, quiet, shy and easily frightened. The children are set for adventure, whether it is learning Jamaican patois from their Cousin Joanne, spending time with a lady who talks to her goats, fighting crabs with their Grandmother Merle or encountering bad tempered cows. They experience fun laughter and scary times, join them on their adventure.
