Bless should have read the fine print when signing away her freedom. Now her soul has someone else's name on it.
Forced to work for the province leader to keep her mother alive, Bless takes joy out of what she can. The leader's son isn't too bad to look at, her best friend works in the stables, and her efforts have almost paid off her family’s debt. Too bad the leader feeds a shapeshifter the souls of his workers for power.
Then fire engulfs the leader’s manor. The only survivor Bless can find is the leader's son, Goedus, who says the shapeshifter has come to collect its souls. Her soul.
