This is a fantasy book about a teenage girl, Brielle, unhappy with her seemingly normal life as a transplant from California to Washington state. Her sister and best friend are making the best of it because they are actually her guardian and advisor and are born with their memories. Brielle won't get her memories until her 18th birthday when she will go back to her realm to rule over the Radiants. The radiants are people of another realm who protect the humans of earth from evil, specifically the Caligion's.
Brielle grows upon earth to protect her whereabouts until her ruling begins at 18 when she returns to her realm in the clouds.
To date, Caligion's have never found the Radiant ruler on earth, until now. The Prince of evil walked into her high school, pulled to her by an unseen force. Brielle falls in love with him and her world realizes she is much more powerful a ruler than ever seen before.
